The architectural styles from the Avenida de Mayo are varied. Representatives are classic, art deco and art nouveau. Chile hotel at number 1297 Santiago del Estero corner belongs to the latter style. Its architect was a Frenchman, Jules Dubois, at a time (early twentieth century) in the city looking for a monumental identity at the expense of colonial architecture, called together the chief exponents of world architecture.
